WWE Survivor Series 2019 Preview And Predictions

Welcome on and all to my preview and predictions blog for the upcoming WWE Network live special, Survivor Series. This is always one of my favourite shows of the year, to be honest the big four are always my favourites but, this year there is the addition of the NXT brand to make things interesting. As of writing not all of the teams and matches have been finalised and I will do my best to keep the match previews updated. Why not head on over to my preview blog for NXT Takeover: WarGames before you start reading this one. As always I will be talking about the matches in no particular order.

As with all of my posts if you have any comments or feedback leave a comment in the section below or by following me on Twitter and Instagram.

1. The Viking Raiders Vs. The Undisputed Era Vs. The New Day: This is a great mix of teams from all of the brands and will be something special to watch. Survivor Series as a whole marks a great change for all of WWE and is giving a great platform to the talent of NXT. This should be a great match for all 6 men involved. The Viking Raiders have been on a tear since their arrival to RAW a number of months ago culminating with them securing the RAW tag team championships. The Undisputed Era team of Fish and O'Reilly are one of the best tag teams in any company and I think this match will bring a lot of attention to them that they deserve. The New Day for once are the underdogs in this match and I think that might play to their advantage. This will be a fantastic match I am looking forward to seeing Big E and Erik squaring up. I think this match might go to The Viking Raiders might come out with the win.

2. Women's Survivor Series Match: Team RAW Vs. Team Smackdown Vs. Team NXT: After the events of WarGames the NXT women's contingent was announced and what a team it is. Rhea Ripley will head up the team and after recent matches she more than deserves that spot. There is a great mix of bad and good talent in Candice LaRae, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair and the returning Toni Storm all who have the potential to build their reputation further. There is a great mix of talent in both team red and blue. I think that Asuka and Kairi Sane will both dominate for RAW and I think that Sarah Logan is due to have a break out moment and this match might be it. For team Smackdown I would love to see Nikki Cross and Dana Brooke have stand out showings but, I think it will be Charlotte Flair that really dominates this match. I think NXT will come out with the win.

3. AJ Styles Vs. Roderick Strong Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: This is a real dream match and I think this may be the match that everyone talks about come the end of the night. Roderick Strong has been flying under the radar a little but, as with a lot of the NXT talent, Survivor Series will be a coming out party and Roderick Strong may show everyone what they've been missing. AJ Styles has had some incredible matches as of late especially with Humberto Carillo and he continues to show why he is one of the most valuable talents in all of WWE. Shinsuke Nakamura has been a little under utilised and over looked even with the Intercontinental Championship around his waste. This will be a hard hitting match with a lot of incredible spots. It's hard to pick a winner in this one but, I think Nakamura may come out with the surprise win.

4. Becky Lynch Vs. Bayley Vs. Shayna Baszler: Another dream match between 3 of the most talked about women competitors in the WWE. This match has been built incredibly well over the past few weeks and is the match I am looking forward to most. Becky Lynch has opened a lot of doors over the past year or so and has brought a lot of eyes to the women's division. Bayley is the underdog in this match and unfairly so, she has been on a roll ever since her turn to the dark side. Shayna Baszler if facing an uphill battle as this match will be her 2nd high profile match of the weekend and time will tell if that holds on baring on the outcome of the match. This will be another milestone match in the women's division and in all honestly could be a Wrestlemania calibre match. There will be some great back and forth in this match with all showing their individual talents. I think that Becky Lynch will come out on top in this match.

5. Men's Survivor Series Match: Team RAW Vs. Team Smackdown Vs. Team NXT: As with the women's elimination match the men's NXT team has yet to be announced and for that reason it's hard to speculate on the winner of the match. Both RAW and Smackdown are fielding incredible teams and on most years that would be enough but, I think after the NXT brand has been announced for Survivor Series this will prove a problem for both brands. On the RAW brand I think this will be a stand out year for Drew McIntyre, who has probably the most potential to get himself into the main event picture going forward. Ricochet should also have a decent outing. On Team Smackdown I think Mustafa Ali and Shorty G have a lot to prove and hopefully this match will be a great display for their talents. I think that Baron Corbin might be the stand out for the blue brand. As I said I can't really speculate on the winner of this match but, I think regardless of who they field, NXT will come out with the win.

6. WWE Universal Championship: "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt (C) Vs. Daniel Bryan: I'm not going to lie I am a huge fan of The Fiend and have been since the first maniacal grin in the Firefly Fun House. I am a little sceptical of Bray Wyatt becoming champion so quickly into his new character but, I am excited none the less. Daniel Bryan is in a great transition in his career but, has been having not only some of the best matches since his return in the past little while but, also has been proving how great he is on the mic too. This should be a decent enough match and really show how the differing styles of the two really complement each other. I think The Fiend will come out on top but, I don't think this will be the last match between the two.

7. NXT Championship: Adam Cole Vs. Pete Dunne: As announced this week Adam Cole is set to defend his NXT Championship for the first time on a WWE live special and after the events of WarGames we know that he will face Pete Dunne. Dunne more than earned his spot in a fantastic triple threat match beating both Killian Dain and Damian Priest. This will be a fantastic match with Dunne and Cole having history. Do I think this is Dunne's time to become the NXT champion ? I'd love to say yes but, I don't think it is. I do think this will be a fantastic display for the black and yellow brand and a deserved match for both competitors. Adam Cole will come out with the win.

8. WWE Championship No Holds Barred: Brock Lesnar (C) Vs. Rey Mysterio: Whilst I'm usually not adverse to seeing Rey Mysterio get an opportunity at the WWE Championship this will hardly be a memorable match. This story line has been decent enough, even with the over use of the sure to be signed to the performance centre Dominick. This should be a pretty quick affair with Mysterio getting a little offence in before being squashed into the mat by Brock.
