WWE Hell In A Cell 2017 Preview And Predictions

Welcome one and all to my preview blog for the "Smackdown Live" exclusive live special "Hell In A Cell". As always I will talk about the matches in no particular order and I encourage you to leave a comment below or by following me on social media.

What a great card for "Hell In A Cell" which is always one of my favourite matches. For once there's not too many superstars missing from the card, my only issue is that the "WWE" Championship match is not really the focal point of the event and isn't even in the cell as it should be.

1. Kick Off Show Match: Chad Gable And Shelton Benjamin Vs. The Hype Bros: I feel really bad for Chad Gable. First he was dumped by his tag team partner and now he's been pushed into a "Worlds Greatest Tag Team" rip off. Surely he deserves a lot better than this. He is one of the best technical wrestlers "WWE" has to offer and would have provided a great set of matches being Benjamin's opponent. The Hype Bros are just something of nothing. There seems to be no real cohesion between the two and Ryder simply looks like he could care less about his partner. Hopefully these four will show how good they are and prove they are more than worthy of being on television a lot more. I think that The Hype Bros could be on the way out as a team so I could see Gable and Benjamin getting the win.

2. Randy Orton Vs. Rusev: I just can't get excited for this feud or match. I really like Rusev and I feel that he is a under rated worker but I feel this feud is just an excuse to have both on TV. Randy Orton just looks bored and tired by everything he does and, in my opinion, has started to become apparent to a lot of the audience. I'm not really expecting too much from this match other than filler. Orton to win and look perplexed again.

3. Bobby Roode Vs. Dolph Ziggler: The build up for this match has produced more interesting Ziggler segments than I feel I've seen in such a long time. I love what he is doing right now but, I would have liked to have seen him re packaged to separate himself from the horrible "Show Off" gimmick. Roode has had a great run in the "WWE" so far and has more than broken out of the "TNA" mould. This one could prove to be one of the best matches that both have had in the past couple of years. Expect a lot of high drama and under handedness from Ziggler to pull out the win.

4. WWE United States Championship: AJ Styles (C) Vs. Baron Corbin: Baron Corbin has been unlucky as of late. He became only the 3rd Superstar in history to unsuccessfully cash in his "Money In the Bank" contract. Since then things have picked up but, it seems that his push has been slowed down. That's not saying a "United States" Championship match is a step down, in many ways it's probably a great move to have Corbin Vs. Styles instead of Corbin Vs. Mahal. Styles continues to prove why he is one of the best wrestlers in general. Proving he can not only work with seasoned veterans like Cena and Owens he has had some great interactions with Corbin. I would have liked to have seen this one in "Hell In A Cell" but, the action should be great none the less. I can't see Corbin winning the championship just yet so AJ Styles for the win.

5. Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship Hell In A Cell: The New Day (C) Vs. The Usos: To say these two teams stole the show at "Summerslam" is an understatement. Both teams have more than proven why they are the backbone of the tag team landscape as a whole. It's a shame the tag team division doesn't get more exposure on weekly shows. The fact that this match is in "Hell In A Cell" adds an "X Factor" to the proceedings. There could be a 3 on 2 situation as these matches will be "No DQ" so there is nothing stopping all of The New Day being involved. This could be somewhat of a show stealer and one of the matches of the year. I think that the numbers game might become a bit too much for The Usos to handle so I think The New Day will retain.

6. Smackdown Live Women's Championship: Natalya (C) Vs. Charlotte Flair: I really didn't expect to see another "Natty" championship run especially with the "Smackdown Live" women's division being filled with a high level of talent. Whilst Charlotte has been away the women's division has been a little flat but, I think that's due to Tamina being paired with Lana and dull segments featuring Carmella and James Elsworth, hopefully this match will bring the division back on track a little bit and prove to be a highlight of an already exciting show. I could see Flair coming out with a win but, not before we get one hell of match from these two.

7. WWE Championship: Jinder Mahal (C) Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: I will say one thing for Jinder Mahal, he has done a lot better than a lot of people have given him credit for. He has vastly improved his mic skills (casually racist impressions aside) and has proven himself to be a decent enough "heel". Has his run as champion been memorable ? not really but, in a time where there seems to be a live special nearly every week and an endless stream of content not much is. Nakamura has done incredibly well to adapt to the "WWE" style since his debut and his popularity has seemed to transition well to the "main roster" This match will be decent enough, undoubtedly the Singh brothers will get involved but, I think this might be Nakamura's moment to become the top player on "Smackdown Live"

8. Hell In A Cell Falls Count Anywhere: Kevin Owens Vs. Shane McMahon: This is undoubtedly the match of the night. If there is one thing that can be guaranteed is that when Shane O' Mac is near anything tall and dangerous there will be a highlight reel moment. Owens has been an incredible "heel" in the past few months and has more than proven he deserves to be one of, if not, the top guy in the company. This match will be a fantastic match, creating another memorable "Hell In A Cell" match for the ages. I'm not really sure how this one will go. I would love to see Owens come out on top but, I think McMahon might come out on top but, not before destroying himself in the process.
