Welcome one and all to the 10th part in the "Shameless Promotion" series of blog posts. My previous posts have been about "Dead Awake", "XX", "Prevenge" and "Eighteen Visions". The general idea of these posts are to talk about something; be it a band, film, comic book, website etc that I think you should all know about. Part 10 of "Shameless Promotion" is about a cool "Kickstarter" comic book project that I have a soft spot for. In 2016 I stumbled upon a Scottish based comic book project entitled "Alex Automatic" and from the moment I read a plot summary I was intrigued. "Alex Automatic" follows government agent Alex Anderson after he has been subjected to numerous medical tests. He now believes he is a 1970s television spy called "Alex Automatic" to read more about the background click the link here.
Two years later the books writer, Fraser Campbell, is back with a sequel entitled "Alex Automatic - Bokeh's Machine" which will be released through "Cabal Comics" The story follows a paranoid and scared Alex as he tries to piece his life together again.
What I love about "Kickstarter" campaigns is that they feel personal and unique and by backing this project let me assure you there are unique items for days but, don't worry if you don't have a lot of money there are affordable levels. This project is fantastic and well worth a browse. The project is proving to be popular, meeting it's first goal within 24 hours of launch. With that stretch goals have been added and they are just as enticing as the book itself. Don't take my word for it, check out the project page here.
