Welcome back one and all and for the first time in a little while I'm going to talk about a project that I love, "This.Is.PROGRESS"
If you couldn't tell, I'm a wrestling fan. I have been for the better part of 20 years and I am constantly looking for new ways to feed my addiction. If you are a "WWE" fan you will have probably tuned into the "WWE UK Championship tournament" this past January. Whilst every single person in the tournament stood out there were 3 in particular that were that little bit better: Tyler Bate (the eventual winner), Pete Dunne (the other finalist) and Trent Seven, the group known as "British Strong Style". At this point in time these 3 men are the faces of not only British wrestling but, "PROGRESS Wrestling".
If you're not familiar with "PROGRESS", and up until last year I wasn't either, they are one of the top wrestling promotions in the UK and have been home to some of the top talent in wrestling today including: Finn Balor, Marty Scurll, Jack Gallagher, Tommy End (NXT Superstar Aleister Black), Will Osprey and Zack Sabre Jr to name a few. Operating out of music venues across the UK they have produced some of the best UK wrestling shows in recent memory so it was little wonder that many of their talent were used in the "WWE UK tournament" in January.
I have become a subscriber to their on demand service, "Demand PROGRESS", and at $7.49 a month you get a lot for your money. Not only do you get each chapter of their on going live events you also get a weekly show called "Freedoms Road" as well as other live specials such as the "PROGRESS" Vs. "Evolve" Show and "Wrestlecon" Show from "Wrestlemania" Weekend this year. Subscribers also get to watch "SMASH" Wrestling from Canada with their "Demand PROGRESS" subscription. Follow the link to subscribe now
Whilst all of my previous points have been relevant I really want to talk about the recently launched Kickstarter to fund a documentary about PROGRESS called "This.Is.PROGRESS". The documentary is a retrospective documentary that will track the rise of the up and coming promotion. the documentary will explore what makes "PROGRESS" so unique and why it has a cult following. It will also talk about the "DIY" ethic the company has, "PROGRESS" has no TV deal in place and still sell out every single one of their shows with their loyal fan base. They have also built their own roster of home trained talent from their own wrestling school.
As of writing this post there is 19 days left of the campaign and it still has £8,000 to raise in order to fund the project. I urge all of you wrestling fans to back this tremendous project by following the link "This.Is.PROGRESS"
