I am a huge fan of the live action "DeathNote" films that were adapted from the manga of the same name. If you don't know what "DeathNote" is all about the story follows "Light" as he finds a mysterious book called the "DeathNote". The book enables the person that posesses it to cause the death of whom ever they wish. For years there has been talk of an American version of the film because, well that's what happens with most successful Japanese franchises. I was sceptical to say the least until a director was named for the long delayed project.
Adam Wingard has had an incredible run with films such as "You're Next", "The Guest" and the "V/H/S" franchise as well as the recent "Blair Witch" sequel. So when I heard that Wingard was going to be involved I was incredibley excited. The cast is relatively unknown however, Willem DaFoe was announced as a perfect fit for the demon and guardian of the "DeathNote", "Ryuk". There isnt much given away in this first teaser but, it's enough to get you excited. ENJOY !!!
