WWE Elimination Chamber Preview And Predictions

Welcome one and all to my preview and prediction blog for WWE Elimination Chamber. This has been hastily built but, there are some solid matches in the mix. I'm really enjoying Smackdown Live over RAW at the moment. Everything feels a lot less drawn out and fresh. Before I start I would encourage you to leave a comment on your thoughts about tonight by leaving a comment below or by following me on social media by following the links at the side of the page. With that on to my preview and predictions for Elimination Chamber

Preshow Match: Curt Hawkins Vs Mojo Rawley

I have no idea why this match has been planned for the preshow. It might be that there were plenty of PPV quality matches on the card that it would have been a crime to put one on the preshow. I can't understand why WWE brought Hawkins back simply to make him a joke jobber and nothing more, he has some real talent you only need to watch some of his matches from his indy days to see that. Mojo is getting a little bit of a push due to Zack Ryder's injury, He is a likeable enough character but, is just not very good and dull to watch. I fully expect Rawley to win in a really quick and embarrassing manner.

1. Becky Lynch Vs. Mickie James

It's great to see Mickie James back on WWE television, she more than flourished in TNA and really hasn't lost a step since she left WWE television. The womens division has been focused on the revolution for a couple of years now and by adding Mickie James as a bitter veteran to the mix another dimension has been added. Becky Lynch has been overshadowed by her counterparts which is a shame; she's a great worker and exciting to watch. I love the focus on building depth in the women's division and think this actually might be the best of the 3 womens matches on the card. I think Mickie might get the better of Becky with a little help from the outside.

2. Natalya Vs. Nikki Bella

Considering WWEs PG television rating this feud has been pretty close to the bone. I understand that Total Divas has to get exposure to promote the cast members but, I think this match would have been pretty great regardless. Reports have come about that Nikki might be on her way to retirement which would be a shame as she never really got the credit for helping the womens revolution to begin. I think this will set up a match for Wrestlemania and don't see this as anything more as a throw away set up look for Natty to win by under handed means perhap "injuring" Nikki.

3. Randy Orton Vs. Luke Harper

I don't think anyone could have predicted Randy Orton winning the Royal Rumble this year, I never really even considered it but, I'm glad he did. The Wyatt family angle hasn't really been as good as I would have hoped it was going to be and by the looks of it might end quite soon. I'm so dissapointed that the Wyatt family doesnt really seem to get the break it should have and is really floundering. Luke Harper is one hell of a worker and is dangerously under utilised. I have a funny feeling that Randy Orton will get the win with a little help from Bray Wyatt only to come clean and admit that he wears trying to take down the Wyatt family all along. This will be a great little warm up match for Orton Vs. Cena match 1000.

4. Kalisto and Apollo Crews Vs. Dolph Ziggler

This is a really strange match for the most part. I would have much rather seen Ziggler one on one with either Crews or Kalisto. I like seeing Ziggler back to his heelish ways as he really flourishes in this role rather than his mediocre face run where he just keeps fighting and losing and doesnt know why. I think and hope this might be an introduction to a rumoured faction that was supposed to include Ziggler, Jack Swagger and Shelton Benjamin as a shoot style wrestling crew which would be a great way of highlighting Zigglers shoot wrestling abilities. I think Ziggler will win this match by under handed means. All the while I really hope they find something better for both Crews and Kalisto soon as both are incredibly talented competitors. I would maybe suggest a move to RAW for Kalisto so he can compete in Cruiserweight division.

5. Smackdown Live Womens Championship Match: Alexa Bliss (C) Vs. Naomi

This is a refreshing change of pace for the womens division. Alexa Bliss has truly shown how great a competitor she really is and a more than deserving champion for the blue brand. Naomi is another women's competitor who has been unlucky over the years, every time she seems to gain momentum she seems to get injured. Thankfully she is finally getting the exposure she deserves as she really is one of the most athletic women on either roster. I think this will be a great back and forth match showcasing both. I fully expect Bliss to go into Wrestlemania as Smackdown womens champion but, I think this will set up a return match with Naomi getting another shot in front of her home crowd.

6. Tag Team Turmoil match for Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships: American Alpha (C) Vs. Heath Slater And Rhyno Vs. The Ascension Vs The Vaudvillians Vs. Breezango Vs. The Usos

Both RAW and Smackdown Live! Have some incredible tag teams and this type of match is a great way of showcasing this. American Alpha have been under utilised since winning the championship which is a shame because they are one of the best tag teams on WWE television. The Usos are more than deserving to have another run with the belts which wouldn't be so bad either. I feel really bad for Breezango and The Vaudvillains as they are destined to just float about the mid card for a long while perhaps for the rest of their respective runs. The team that really have a lot to prove is The Ascension. They were hugely popular at NXT and given the right exposure could be great champions. I think American Alpha might win setting up a match with The Usos at Wrestlemania.

7. Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship: John Cena (C) Vs. Bray Wyatt Vs Baron Corbin Vs. The Miz Vs. Dean Ambrose Vs. AJ Styles

This has to be one of the best mixes of talent in an Elimination Chamber match for quite some time. It was no surprise that big match John won the WWE title so near to Wrestlemania and I highly doubt that he will drop the Championship before then, I have been wrong but, I highly doubt it this time. Baron Corbin has had an incredible year and has really come into his own since the brand split proving that he is without a doubt a future champion. AJ Styles likewise has had a great year since his debut. It's criminal he isn't going into Wrestlemania as champion and I really can't see how he figures into the Mania card. I expect The Miz and Ambrose to continue their feud into Wrestlemania perhaps setting up a ladder match or some other marquee style match. Wyatt will simply be used to figure into the Cena and Orton match that will inevitably happen at Wrestlemania. I can't wait to see this match and hopefully be proven wrong in some respects.
