WWE Wrestlemania 28 Preview And Thoughts

I know it is a little early to preview this Sunday's Wrestlemania 28 event, but here it goes:
(Note these are the matches announced in the order on the WWE website)

Match 1: Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos Vs Beth Phoenix and Eve
This match has very little appeal to me whatsoever. I think this will be the usual match that goes between the two main event matches. I really don't care about the outcome.

Match 2: Randy Orton Vs Kane
This is an interesting pairing if there was ever one. This match came a little out of left field for me. I think this will be an OK match as both usually put on a good showing at Wrestlemania. Both men have had a decent run up until now and both have gained a lot of momentum in their career over the past year. I expect Randy Orton to win.

Match 3: Team Teddy Vs Team Johnny
In theory this is a match for the middle card guys to have a bit of a stretch out on PPV. This has been building as quite an integral part of WWE programming for a while now and hopefully will prove a great match. As I am not a big fan of the huge guys in the match I can see Mark Henry and Khali not providing much more than a few squash moments. I'm looking for the younger guys (Dolph Ziggler, Zack Ryder Hell even Otunga) to be the stand out guys in this match. I also feel that Santino and Booker will provide the light hearted side of the match.

Match 4: Cody Rhodes Vs the Big Show (Intercontinental Championship)
I am not the biggest fans of either of these two guys, however I think this will be a good little under card match. I like how WWE have invested a lot in the storyline and justification of this match. Cody Rhodes has spent weeks making fun of Show until a match at Wrestlemania was set. I don't see the storyline continuing much longer so I fully expect Big Show to win the match and the IC belt and finally silencing a much improved Cody Rhodes.

Match 5: Daniel Bryan Vs Sheamus (World Heavyweight Championship)
The first of two world championship matches for the night is the one I'm  not too sure of. I really like Daniel Bryan and the character development that has happened over the past few months or so. I think Sheamus is OK, but is too so-so at being a heel that I don't see much attraction in this match. I would like Bryan to win, but I see Sheamus picking up the W.

Match 6: CM Punk Vs Chris Jericho (WWE Championship)
This is the match I am most looking forward to seeing. Two of my all time favourite WWE superstars meeting at Wrestlemania. I love what the WWE have done with Chris Jericho in regards to the complete switcheroo they pulled on his return. CM Punk can never really do wrong in my eyes. He is consistently good and is finally getting the main event spot he so sorely deserved. the storyline has been fantastic in the weeks leading to Wrestlemania, Jericho is pure evil on the screen. I am torn on who I think will win, but if I had to I think Punk will win.

Match 7: Triple H Vs The Undertaker (Hell In A Cell - Shawn Michaels Special Ref)
I really hope this will be better than their match up at last years Wrestlemania. These two are legends and will always be, but I really hope that Taker ends the streak himself at an impressive 20-0

Match 8: The Rock Vs John Cena (Once In A Lifetime)
This match is one the best marketing ploys in WWE history. The Main event that was announced one day after Wrestlemania 27 thus giving the WWE a year to hype the match up. As much as I love the concept of this match I'm not expecting much. The Rock and Cena are definate future Hall Of Fame members and I don't think this match will do anything but further cement their drawing power for the WWE. I fully expect The Rock to win as his ego wouldn't have it any other way.

Enjoy the evening.
