2019 has been a pretty decent year for the WWE as a whole. Sure there is new competition in AEW and there have been some high profile departures from the company but, NXT has gone from strength to strength and talent like Becky Lynch, Bray Wyatt, Kofi Kingston and more have had banner years. TLC is the final event of the monthly live special calendar and if I'm honest I'm not the biggest fan of the concept show that may only have one of these matches on the card. As always I will be speaking about these matches in no particular order.

1. Aleister Black Vs. Buddy Murphy: Both Black and Murphy have been criminally under utilised as of late with Black cutting some strange promos in a dark room and Murphy telling everyone he's really good but, not really having the opportunity to show what he can do. This match can be nothing but a positive for both men as it should, in theory, be a great showcase of two of the best talents on the RAW roster. This should be a hard hitting affair with both men having their fair share of strikes in their repertoire. If I had to choose a winner I would say it will be Black but, this match should be a treat for any fan looking for a reason to watch TLC.

2. RAW Tag Team Championship: The Viking Raiders Open Challenge: It was announced that Erik and Ivar would be issuing an open challenge for their tag team championships and there are a fair few teams that could take the opportunity to get their shot. The Street Profits came up short this past Monday and could be looking for a rematch. The O.C could step up and take an opportunity to add to their numerous championships. I think that The AOP would be the most likely candidates for the match as they have returned are now aligned with Seth Rollins. I don't see The Viking Raiders leaving TLC with their championships.

3. Tables Match: Rusev Vs. Bobby Lashley: I can say with all honesty I have really disliked the Lashley and Rusev feud from start to now. I know that's a common opinion but, it is a valid one. The soapy melodrama is akin to the old school WWE style and is honestly one of my last favourite parts of wrestling history. That being said Rusev has gotten a bit of attention and a push from this story line and whilst I'm not really for the story I do love Rusev. This match will be a mix of melodrama and clumsy spots that will probably not be the most memorable of matches but, will hopefully be the bookend for this feud. Rusev for the win.

4. TLC Match: Roman Reigns Vs. King Corbin: Say what you will about both Reigns and Corbin they have had pretty decent years. Reigns made a triumphant return after a cancer diagnosis and has been slowly but, surely making his way back to the top end of the card since his return. Whilst I've never been the biggest fan of Reigns I have to admit I am warming to him and I can now see the potential that others have been talking about. On the flip side King Corbin has had a great year and continues to be one of the most hated men in WWE. Corbin has the knack of being a heat magnet and does everything in his power just to make the audience not like him. This will be an OK match with the no rules stipulation coming into play and Corbin having help on the outside. Reigns will do his usual powering out as good overcomes evil again.

5. Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The New Day (C) Vs. The Revival: The New Day have been on a hell of a role this year, even being a man down hasn't stopped them from having not only a WWE Championship reign but, also two tag team championships. The Revival on the other hand have had a very stop start year and honestly, as much as I hate to say this, I think a change of company might benefit one of the best tag teams in wrestling today. This should be a decent enough match in this OK feud and I think The New Day will retain.

6. WWE Women's Tag Team Championship TLC: The Kabuki Warriors (C) Vs. Becky Lynch And Charlotte Flair: This should be one of the best matches of the night and a great showcase for four of the top talents in the WWE today. Asuka and Kairi Sane have taken a while to really form a cohesive team but, finally seem to be hitting their strides as a heel team. They have become really entertaining to watch and I think they have a long run as a team given the right writing. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have formed an uneasy alliance that could prove to be tricky for the Kabuki Warriors. This will be a great back and forth with a lot of foul play on the heel teams part. I think either a blast of green mist of a double cross will lead to the Kabuki Warriors retaining.

7. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt Vs. The Miz: This is an odd little match that could be the talking point of the whole event. Bray Wyatt has been one of the real high points of WWE television this year and has been by far my favourite character. Originally Daniel Bryan was supposed to be facing off with Wyatt but, The Fiend attacked Bryan and he hasn't been on TV since. The Miz has had a mediocre year in all honesty and this match is really the only match of note in his year. This should be a decent enough match, hopefully will be red light free and even after he disappeared I fully expect a new look and style Daniel Bryan cost The Miz the match and allow Wyatt to continue his winning ways.
