I love a lot of things in life, so much so I really want to write about them. I'm not doing this to force you to listen/watch etc but I feel that everyone should at least be aware of such greatness that exists.
The first part of the new item I am provisionally calling "Shameless Promotion" is about the Smodcast production company.
This is, if you are unaware; the roster of podcast radio shows, Youtube videos and more produced by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay And Silent Bob, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Red State) and his many friends on numerous subjects from Batman to marriage. I became a fan of Smodcast when a friend of mine suggested that I should go and listen to the Podcast as it was hilarious. Firstly I had to ask what the hell a Podcast was as I was one of the few people who hadn't owned an Apple product and then I asked where to go to download it. I have been hooked ever since and I still look forward to new episodes of all my favourite shows.
I have to say that Hollywood Babble On is my favourite show. Hosted by Smith and Ralph Garman (Family Guy, A Million Ways To Die In The West) talk about everything Hollywood from douchebags and their happenings to the rumoured size of Liam Neesons penis.
This show is closely followed by Edumacation. The simple premise of this show hosted by Smith and Andy Mcelfresh is to make minds mightier. Every week I tune into to learn facts that I would not have normally thought about, but love the fact I now know them. There is four sections or chambers to the show. The sci, the fi, the why and the bye. the banter between Smith and Mcelfresh is hilarious and has kept me amused and educated to no end.
The final show I will mention is Jay And Silent Bob Get Old. Started by Smith as a form of therapy session for his friend and collaborator Jason Mewes, Get Old has followed the pair around America and beyond promoting the animated feature "Jay And Silent Bobs Super Groovy Cartoon Movie". This is hilarious even if it is to here inappropriate stories about Jason Mewes's home life.
All of the shows and more are available for download from Itunes, however the best way to fully understand and appreciate Smodcast as a whole is to visit http://smodcast.com/ and check out all of the other fantastic content available.
