Todays lazy Sunday film is the brilliant Creepshow. Written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero it combines my two loves; great horror writing and brilliant horror movie. The film is extremely eighties in a lot of respects such as the overall feel and especially the musical score. The film is divided up into different stories made to look like an 80's gore comic that was an extremely popular genre of the time. These stories include a demonic father from beyond the grave demanding his fathers day cake, an alien moss that take over, a crazed scorn husband (played by Leslie Neilsen) being haunted by sea creatures, a mysterious crate and a bug obsessed germophobe. Whilst the stories are not straight horror they are dark comedy to the nth degree. Well worth the watch for anyone that loves not only being scared, but having a laugh at the sheer cheesiness of the film.Check out the trailer below and enjoy:
